Earth's government had a breakthrough in their top secret research project Life Tree. They've created perfect soldiers whose abilities exceed scientists' expectations, thanks to the predator sequence in their DNA. Now project Life Tree is entering phase two, genetic reproduction of the Master Trooper. Betrayed by her boyfriend and sentenced to penal servitude for drug possession, Larona finds herself among several other women en route to the convict colony on Mars. Turns out it's not Mars they land on, but planet Terra Alpha, where the women are to be part of a research project. There, Larona is chosen for program INBREED – she's to bear the child of a Master Trooper. Her body is no longer hers, but a possession of Life Tree. Upon meeting Torn, who seems to have no qualms about carrying out Life Tree's orders, Larona is absolutely desperate... Torn has proven himself as above-average in combat and every test. That's why he was chosen for program INBREED – to pass on his genes – a task others envy him for because it means luxury in between tours: vacation time, good food, and clean women. Torn never had any reason to doubt Life Tree, and especially INBREED is a duty he enjoys. To him, women just serve to satisfy a bodily need... but it's different with Larona. When she tries to kill herself, Torn starts to question Life Tree. Because he's developing feelings for Larona that he, as a Master Trooper, isn't even supposed to have...

Politicians, financiers, and spies vie for supremacy, power, and wealth in pursuit of a nightmarish vision that can have only one outcome, the creation of a repressive interstellar empire. All that stands between them and their goal is a small band of determined Fleet operatives working in the shadows. Drawn into the struggle against his will, former Marine Pathfinder Zack Decker soon realizes he must choose sides and join those fighting off the growing darkness, but at great personal cost. However, try as they might, the double-crossing humans, deadly aliens, cruel pirates, and merciless slavers he must battle cannot keep Decker from extracting his revenge, especially after his beloved Corps recalls him to active duty as a Marine. He takes no prisoners and pulls no punches because his growing list of enemies has forced him to accept that this is also Decker's War. And it is a fight to the death. Unfortunately for his foes, they always seem to forget that he is still one of the Few... This omnibus edition includes the first three Decker's War novels which have been published separately. They are Death Comes But Once (Decker's War Book 1) Cold Comfort (Decker's War Book 2) Fatal Blade (Decker's War Book 3)

The Nicaraguan War Chronicles Book 1 by Peter Duysings. This book is available in ePub and PDF format with a single click unlimited downloads. Rob van Duis served two consecutive tours in Vietnam, on grueling and dangerous LRRPs - Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrols. The ‘shadow warriors’ deadly warfare games of silent covert scouting operations against the enemy deep in the bush could last a few weeks at a time. Although their task was to locate, spying out enemy positions and call in strikes, they invariably took part in ambushes and small scale raids. With numerous firefight missions under his belt, van Duis had become a skilled combat field operator. Once back stateside, he continued to hone his warfare field craft under the training of a highly-decorated former Army Green Beret officer, Dave Randall, who successfully served three Nam combat tours. With high-profile military connections, Randall is able to secure a government assignment to fight Communist Sandinista insurgents in Nicaragua along with other teams. It was into this hot cauldron of socio-political chaos, in late 1977 that recruited experienced fighting soldiers began to be inserted within Nicaraguan borders clandestinely to fight the Sandinista rebels to avert a communist takeover so close to the U.S. border. Having recruited and trained a team of twelve experienced combat operators, van Duis being one of them, they are off once again taking the field as in Vietnam years in rough and unforgiving terrain striking fear and death to armed rebels with a vengeance. The story begins with Bravo Team’s covert arrival into Nicaragua. Van Duis and his teammates hit the ground running as they battle Sandinista rebels deep in enemy territory. His team’s first-full scale battle is to purge a peaceful countryside villa of the armed combatants that have besieged it. After a vicious door-to-door fight to clear the villa’s dwellings of rebels, it takes all the firepower available to finally defeat the horde of insurgents, who have taken innocent villagers hostage in a dense woodland area. On another mission as a solo strike team, Bravo is inserted into a rebel-infested area to neutralize a weapons supply depot, but as happenstance would have it they are faced by an enemy force triple the size they anticipated. The hazardous assignment takes yet another unforeseen turn; as van Duis and team flee to the exfiltration point, they are faced with taking an injured young peasant girl to safety with armed Sandinistas on their heels. Van Duis provides an insider’s look at the trauma of warfare’s brutality. Each mission is depicted with the intensity that only a real participant can portray. Even as a trained and experienced warrior, in the face of hideous combat he is affected by what he witnesses; the catastrophic aftermath to the civilians caught in the chaos of war. The story takes the reader deep inside the cataclysmic combat action seen through the eyes of Rob van Duis, a member Strike Team Bravo. His and the team’s direct actions are rendered in the thick of the hellacious and death-defying perilous missions. This real-life journal of agonizing anguish that takes a toll on the human body and spirit is based on actual events. Their warfare missions provide a realistic look at the traumatic bane of armed conflict and its terrorizing face and subsequent results as Bravo goes after Communist rebel camps and supply depots with one solitary mission agenda; to take down the enemy with as much deadly force required wiping them off the face of the map. Nothing short of complete sterilization of their target is acceptable. Bravo manages to overcome the odds with chilling and bristling fighting sequences that puts the reader’s mind in the very midst of terrifying clashes; close enough at times to see the whites of the enemy’s eyes before death overtakes the fallen. Nothing is as dramatic as actual in-your-face combat action up close and personal.

The only question that runs through her mind is, can the outside world be any worse than the one she's lived in? After being bought by a well-to-do family with a terrible secret and sold into sex trafficking, Georgia crosses paths with a male Unwanted named Kyle, who's been raised to be a soldier in a military experiment. Unable to leave Georgia in her circumstances, Kyle hatches a plan to free her from the captivity of a dangerous pimp. Along with two other Unwanteds, Georgia and Kyle go on the run in an unknown world where the bond they form may be the only thing that keeps them alive. They know they'll be hunted. This book is available in ePub and PDF format with a single click unlimited downloads. Expeditionary Marine Lt. JD Rawlings is nearly as battered and hastily patched as the ship he is assigned to, the Navy frigate Rontar. Scars of recent repair are disturbingly visible on both. But that is not the worst of it, by far. Lt. Rawlings discovered betrayal, an ambush by the alien Shaquaree, but his method of discovery is seen by many survivors as the catalyst which precipitated the battle. The Shaquaree then nearly annihilated mankind's best military and diplomatic personnel in a matter of only minutes. Only one ship, the Rontar, with Rawlings aboard, managed to escape the butchery with an emergency Transition-jump. Rawlings wonders if his next action will be defending humanity against the aliens or himself against the crew members who blame him. When they appear in the Hylea system nothing there makes any more sense than the shocking treachery of the aliens. The system is supposed to be uninhabited, yet there are EM transmissions from the Earth-class planet. There are supposed to be subspace comms with Earth and the remaining Navy and Marine Fleet, yet there are none. Alone, barely functional, defenseless, can the frigate, the Navy crew, and the few remaining Marines survive long enough to gain answers to the critical questions? Who is sending the EM signals, and why is the Hylea system shaped differently than the star charts indicate? Did those intractable aliens follow the Rontar to finish the job? Why are the alien Shaquaree so apparently dedicated to wiping out humanity?

This book is available in ePub and PDF format with a single click unlimited downloads. Called “everything a war memoir could possibly be” by The New York Times, this all-time classic of the military memoir genre now includes a new forward from bestselling author and retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink. Whether he was fifteen years old or forty, David Hackworth devoted his life to the US Army and quickly became a living legend. However, he appeared on TV in 1971 to decry the doomed war effort in Vietnam. From Korea to Berlin and the Cuban missile crisis to Vietnam, Hackworth’s story is that of an exemplary patriot, played against the backdrop of the changing fortunes of America and the US military. This memoir is the stunning indictment of the Pentagon’s fundamental misunderstanding of the Vietnam conflict and of the bureaucracy of self-interest that fueled the war. With About Face, Hackworth has written what many Vietnam veterans have called the most important book of their generation and presents a vivid and powerful portrait of patriotism.

Ace cub reporter Tressa Jayne Turner is carrying a full load—and we're not talking post-holiday pounds. Back in college for the fourth time (but who's counting!?), "Calamity Jayne" is looking to nab a raise from her stingy boss at the Gazette, Stan. So, what's to stop her from making the grade? Well, for starters her grandmother turned roommate rekindling an old flame, maid of honor madness run amok, a botched betrothal that's more than just schoolyard gossip, and a campus criminal who is out to teach the student body a lesson... one crime at a time. As Tressa navigates the halls of higher education, she finds herself torn not only between homework and investigating, but also between a man who likes her for herself and another man who wants to save her from herself. It's a case of murder and mayhem by the books...and failure is so not an option. (NOTE: This book was previously published under the title Calamity Jayne Goes to College.)
